I can't be certain, but the music from "Hypnotic Melodies" seems
like a logical continuation of this music you have uploaded here. "Kingdom
Of Dub" Has the feeling of trying to find a way through musical
possibilities, unable to decide on a particular detail or sub genre of dub and
ultimately being able to make that decision. "Rosenthal City" I have
to ask if this track is related in any way to Sam Rosenthal of Black Tape For A
Blue Girl
? Just curious. My familiarity with his music is somewhat limited, yet
if there is a sound connection here, unfortunately am not tuning into it. There
is a similar hesitance in this track as that of "Kingdom..." That same
indecisiveness, but after listening it repeated times it begins to create a
drone so that all the parts that have been edited to together create a
metaphysical, second sound not immediately perceptible. "squall remix"
falls more into a range of music that I listen to regularly for the fact there
is a greater presence of melody in this track. This project is an interesting
starting point in the world of music you have melted down and raised up in a new
form. And the sound has matured between here and "Hypnotic Melodies".
I am curious to know where you go next fro here. So, don't hesitate to let
me know when that takes place, I would love to hear the evolution.

I know the Chinese character you are speaking of and I like the fact that your
project is based on the origin and meaning of this character. That is the beauty
of Chinese characters, there is always a layer of meanings and suggestions which
encapsulate whole concepts and culture.

"Solace" has a neat combination of ambient and rhythmic sounds. And
I'm not sure what the instrument is, but the plucked sound is really a sound
location, in that it takes my mind to Asia. But that sound is soothing to the
ears and therefore complements the title, or so it would seem. That and the
long, smooth keyboard swells underneath.

"Tears in the Rain" The simplicity is nice, the sounds are not
crowded and the repeating sample "the clock is ticking" seems to go
with the title, as though it is a matter of time before wounds actually heal,
but it is so easy to be impatient, and there is also a sense of being completely
lost, crying in the rain hides tears in a sense, but also shows that you are not
the only one feeling any single emotion at any given moment.

"lifted" I love the beginning of this track with it's ambient
keyboard sound and the cuts of some sort of wind instrument(?) followed shortly
by the piano which has a way of conveying both sadness as well as past ages of
music so wonderfully. The different possible directions this track takes are
difficult to predict, which is nice that you have successfully avoided
convention and progressions. Then another direction is introduced with the bass
and airy keyboard swirls.

"Every Thousand Years " I really like the tonal qualities in the
voice samples you have incorporated into this track layered with swirling
sounds, a virtual universe of "goings on". The introduction of the
beat is nice and powerful, but not overbearing. And it also seems to go with the
words at the beginning of the track, it's the soundtrack to
"emptying" the memory. Quite a terrifying process I would imagine.

"Simpatico" Goes in yet another direction with mildly abrasive guitar
sound and sparse, driving beat. There is a great, but subtle pulse to it, almost
like sensing the heart beating. Then when all of that fades into the more
ominous sound that follows, the beat disappears and turns into pure thought,
almost space. This is a great change and I have a weakness for music that has
that much space to breath. The guitar work is also really nice during this
section of the song.

I just finished listening to your music and the first thing I noticed is the
contrast between harsh, elctronic sounds with driving drum beats mixed with
ambient changes, they go reallly well together. Some of your music reminds me of
music I listened to many years ago, and so it is very nostalgic.
"consequences" is one of my favorite tracks, I especially like the
muted drum beats and electronic sounds/samples. Another favorite of mine is
"Yeah I'm a zombi", I love the keyboard sounds, it's as though
they are being melted together and create a very dark atmosphere. I also hear a
lot of sounds that resemble samples and field recordings, especially on
"little d.", do you use sound recordings such as those? Overall, you
have a neat mixture of sounds and a very unique style of music, very nice. I
also notice that we share a number of the same influences such as Aphex Twin,
The Swans and Godspeed You Black Emperor.

I really like your sense of keeping music unbound by labels and genres. Like
you, I get tired of the few record companies dominating what is played over the
airwaves. BUt, with computers and recording software advances these days, I
think there are very few rules left, if any. I believe you are doing the right
thing. Hang on to that idea and you can't go wrong. Listening to your
uploaded music, it's hard to get a sense of your state of mind and in that
respect I think you are succeeding at staying out of boxes and categories. I
would like to hear more about what you guys are doing and how you go about doing
it.

I just listened to your music and it truly is a mixture of all styles and no
styles, very unique. I felt an instant connection with "Reduced To Shadow
Being" the melodic progressions are enchanting and the piano/bass line
creates a nice pulse."Silence", to me, is a beautiful dreamscape, you
have a wonderful voice and vocal range which is both mature and very attractive.
Please tell me when you have new music uploaded, I would love to hear it. I hope
you like the music at my page.

To begin with, I share your sense of being the person in the background, but it
is important to be yourself and do the things that you enjoy, in your case, as
well as mine, that is music. I think you're right about not putting music in
any kind of box that puts limits on any aspect of it. Of the tunes you have
uploaded, "Detached" is a favorite, the melodic interplay between the
flute and guitar lines touches so many places in my heart. That song reminds me
of falling in love or quiet evenings in the summer when I leave my windows open
because it's so hot outside and the atmosphere drifts into the room. Your
musical influences have served you well in that it gives you a broad pallet
which you use quite creatively and intuitively, I imagine. I can also imagine
hearing your music in a film, on the dance floor in a club or on the radio, none
of those would be out of place. The song "Remote" has that sort of
broad appeal. I also like the recurring piano melody in "The Other Half Of
My Soul", which keeps regenerating inspiration. I really like listening to
all of your music. My guess is that you have more? Would love to hear from you
when you upload anything new. So glad you decided to keep from hiding your work.
You're doing something very positive!!! Take it and run with it!!!

I was stunned when I listened to your voice and your music, which to me
seems/sounds like a collection of tragic love songs, simply beautiful. There is
a sense of love that runs through your music, lyrics and voice, both the
inspiration and the difficulties of love. The acoustic instrumentation is also a
lovely and outstanding feature. I don't know why, but I got the impression
of old european, or even eastern european folk music lurking just beneath the
surface of each of your songs. There is a comfortable loneliness in "Time
Traveling" drifting through memories and abstract worlds in your mind.
"Better Than It Really Is", your lyrics blend and blur the boundaries
between the physical, imagined and sensual worlds, particularly
"...fingertips like strips of dawn...". "Fates Accident" and
the lyric ",...blush of stone..." is wonderfully dreamy and romantic,
it makes me wonder who you are singing of or who you are singing to. "True
Love
and Water" is certainly a tragic love song, I like how you bring
history and mythology to the Jack and Jill story, your lyrical phrasing holds my
heart in suspense waiting anxiously, anticipating each and every word. I am
truly moved when I listen to all of your music and will certainly return to keep
listening.
